Virtual Chocolate Tasting - Sunday, May 18, 2025
$27.00
This month’s virtual tasting session is all about the roots of chocolate, i.e. cacao. Join Sunday, May 18, at 4:30 pm ET for a cacao storytelling session, followed by a mini tasting.
Our first guest, Leila Carvajal Erker, comes from a long line of cacao entrepreneurs. Originally from Ecuador, she’s the founder and CEO of Cocoa Supply, a cacao company supporting craft chocolate makers in Europe and in the US.
When I met her at the DC Chocolate Festival this past weekend, she shared fascinating childhood stories of following her father on cacao farms. I was stunned to learn she met a famed agronomist who transformed the cacao landscape in Ecuador and Peru. She also shared her experience working with cacao farmers in Ecuador. I found her perspective nuanced and thought-provoking, which is why I want YOU to meet her!
After learning from her, you’ll taste caramels made from cacao pulp (the delicious babamels by Chocomotions!). Your kit will include 2 babamels or enough for 2 people. Founder Geneviève Leloup will join us as soon as she wraps up her in-person tasting.
We’ll wrap up the session with a bite of cinnamon dark chocolate bar from a “root-to-bar maker” in Haiti.
The selection is nut-free.
Please get your tickets by Monday, May 12, to allow ample time for shipping.
** Please note you can attend the event without the kit. Please email me at estelle(at)37chocolates.com to received the link.
